JUBILEE OF HAREWOOD SCHOOL
At the final meeting of the Harewood School Jubilee Committee, Mr R. Harris presided. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of approximately £2O. It was decided to transfer the money to the Post Office Savings Bank. Messrs R. Harris, A. Dixon, and P. Jesson were appointed as trustees. The money will be a nucleus for a jubilee swimming bath fund. Letters of appreciation were received from former pupils and teachers. The record book of the celebrations will be left with the headmaster. It was decided to get photographs of each decade, taken on the day of the jubilee, and add them to the record book.
Presentations, of gold mounted fountains pens, suitably inscribed, were made to the president and treasurer in appreciation of the excellent work they had done. Messrs E. Thornton and S. Winfield were appointed to convene a public meeting of former pupils to form a former pupils' association. The meeting will be held in the schoolroom on November 27.
