SUGGESTED QUOTAS
CONFERENCE TO BE CALLED IN AUSTRALIA (Received November 13, 1.35 a.m.) CANBERRA, November 12. The Federal Cabinet discussed the proposed restriction for two months of Australian exports of beef and veal to the United Kingdom. The Government's opposition was evident, but it was felt that the position could be clarified by securing the expert knowledge urn] opinions of the industry. Dr. Earlo Page (Minister for Commerce) is calling the Meat Advisory Board to a conference in Canberra as soon as possible. Since Western Australia is likely to want to be represented, it is improbable that -the conference will be held earlier than the beginning of next week.
