DUKE OF GLOUCESTER'S TOUR
TASMANIA NEXT STATE TO BE VISITED MELBOURNE. November 12. The Duke of Gloucester's visit to Victoria is now ending. To-day was spent on a. country tour, including Bendigu and Shepparton. He will return this evening and board Ji.M.S. Sussex for Tasmania. The Duke will revisit Victoria on November 19 for the celebrations at Portland, the oldest settlement of the state. While on his way to the air" pageant at Laverton on Saturday the Duke was involved in the worst traffic jam known on the Geelong road. The Royal car was frequently forced off the road by a tangle oi hundreds of cars. The police were powerless to relieve the congestion, and the Royal car was forced to take its place in the general procession.
While staying at Ericldownc recently the Duke was greatly interested in the Australian terriers owned by Major dime, and he expressed a desire to take some to England for breeding. On Saturday he visited, a breeder and bought two pups.
