The proposal of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association to establish a corps of uniformed commissionaires has received an encouraging response from commercial houses in the city, stated the employment officer of the association (Mr R. B. Speirs) In his report to the executive last evening. His general impression was that, once the corps was established, and the uniform on display in the city, firms would better appreciate the purpose of the corps and would be persuaded to support it.
