The identity of the recent anonymous donor of £SOO to the St. John Ambulance Association in Auckland is now revealed as being Mr D. R. I Caldwell, of Remuera. The an- [ nouncement was made at a recent meeting of the executive committee of the association by the president, Mr C. J. Tunks, who said that he would propose the election of Mr Caldwell as vice-president, and also the election of Mr and Mrs Caldwell as life members. The gift had enabled the association to carry on during the last three months of the financial year ended September 30, said Mr Tunks. Without the £SOO it would have been necessary to raise an overdraft.
