MANY VISITORS ENTERTAINED
To afford town and country members an opportunity of meeting their friends under very pleasant conditions, the committee of the Queen's Club arranges a reception during each racing carnival held in Christchurch. This year the cup week gathering took the form of a bridge party, which was held last evening in the club's comfortable reception rooms in Cathedral square. The decorations were carried out in arum lilies, peonies, and aquilegias, and the .supper, table was gay with beautiful roses. Those present were Mrs George Helmorc. PARTY AT RICCARTON Mr and Mrs P. J. Dugan (Upper Riccarton) held an enjoyable party at their home to assist the "green house" at the forthcoming fete in aid of the Sisters of the Mission building fund. Donations were received from Mrs J. Twomey and Mr Parera. Euchre prizes 'were won by Miss E. Harrow and Ml' Robinson, consolation prizeswere awarded to Miss J.' Rosser and Mr H. Hawke, and Mr D. A.
