ACCIDENTS
BOY'S LEG BROKEN Ronald Macefleld, aged eight years, of 32 Marlborough street, Riccarton, broke a thigh when he fell while playing at the Wharenui school, shortly before 11 o'clock yesterday mornins. A St. John amdulance was called, and the boy was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where he was admitted. His condition was reported to be satisfactory last evening. MAN KILLED AT FAIRLIE CSFEUUL TO THB TBESS.) FAIRLIE, November G. .While taking a number of employees of the Mackenzie County Council to work this maiming, a motor-lorry driven by W. Struthers overturned on Mount Michael hill, near Fairlie. One of the occupants, William Shaw, a married man, with a family of 10 children, was'killed instantly. The driver and the other occupants of the lorry were thrown clear, and escaped with minor bruises. It is stated that the accident occurred through the steering locking when the lorry was turning on the hill. The lorry overturned on the middle of the road. Lawn at Taneatua, was riding a motor-cycle home from Taneatua township last night, when he collided with a bicycle ridden by F. Mead. Renwick was thrown heavily to the road. •■ He was removed to the Whakatane Hospital, suffering from concussion.
