KENNEDY'S BUSH-GEBBIE'S PASS ROAD
TO TUB EDITOR OF THE Sir, —About two years ago I motored through from "The Kiwi" through Kennedy's Bush, and from there right through to Gebbie's Pass. The road was reasonably good, and presented no difficulties. I again decided to go the same trip yesterday (Sunday). The road to Kennedy's Bush was in fair order; for a mile or two after leaving Kennedyls Bush it was bad. From then on until we had reached Gebbie's Pass, where the road comes out near the 3YA transmitting station, the track is in a very bad state of repair; in fact, I have never motored over anything like it previously. Having got into the very rough stuff, it was impossible to turn back. Ruts in the road were anything up to two feet across and three feet in depth, while the road is strewn wittj boulders of varying sizes. Slips remain uncleared, and have to be driven over. The trip was an absolute nightmare, and I. would suggest that a notice should be placed across the road near Kennedy's Bush tea-rooms advising motorists that the road is impassable. -Yours, etc., xm October 29, 1934.
