THOUGHTLESS MOTORISTS

TO llil EDITOtt OF TUB I'ltEdS. Sir,—The newly-made by-laws prohibiting cyclists from riding "nohands" and three or more abreast have been hailed with delight by motorists. Now, why not give the cyclists respite by forbidding motorists from getting out of their cars through the doors facing the open road after they have pulled up? While cycling along Colombo street last week I almost knocked down a man who chose to leave his car by using the outside door. When I swerved out to avoid him I was lucky in not being hit by another car passing me from behind. Surely it is time a stop was put to this sort of thing.—Yours, etc., PUSH BIKE.
