BEING | AFFECTED j NO ACTION TAKEN IO J GOVERNMENT | | | I (t'ur-.vi AsauciATiu:: ■ivj,lcu..a.) WELLINGTON, August 31. Some concern has been expressed in New Zealand over the proposed boycott of Australian goods by provision dealers in the north of England. Although the cablegrams have made no mention of the possibility of New Zealand goods being brought under the ban, it is considered that there is a danger of produce from New Zealand being confused with produce from Australia in the minds of English traders. Enquiries made in official quarters indicate that up to 1.1 iu present the New Zealand Government has not thought it necessary to take anyspecial steps to safeguard the .miterests of the Dominion producers, but it is taken for granted that the High Commissioner will watch the position and advise the Government if it is necessary to take action.
