THE AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
MEETING OP COUNCIL The council of the Canterbury Automobile Association met last evening, when the president, Mr W. R. Carey, was in the chair. Eighty-four new .members were elected, making the total of new members for the year 836. The Canterbury Progress League wrote asking for its annual grant. It was decided to recommend, to the incoming council that the same amount as last year be granted ~„„„„ Mr F. W. Johnston said the league was doing a wonderful work for motorists. , . The road and patrol report loi July showed that the van had covered J,3 miles Five cars were assisted, 33 new Members were enrolled, and 38 signs erected. Under the associations road service scheme 66 jobs were carried out. The report for the year showed that the mileage was 14,30... inrc.e hundred and fifteen signs were erected, W8 cars were assisted, and 285 new members were enrolled. The Nelson Automobile Association wrote agreeing to include members ot the Canterbury association m its road service scheme. The Canterbury Association had previously agreed to include members of the Nelson association in its scheme.
