Mr A. P. Herbert's "Holy Deadlock" has had the unusual distinction of giving rise to a q lestion in the House of Commons. The Attorney-General was asked whether his attention had been called to this book, "wherein his Majesty's judges and courts, and the legal code which they administered in matrimonial cases, were held up to public ridicule and contempt, and whether it was proposed to take anv action in the matter. He replied that the book referred to was a work of fiction and was not such as to require any action on his part. Mr Bernard Shaw has lately been sitting for Jacob Epstein, who 2 a modelling a bust of him.
