THRESHING MILL OWNERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION At the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Threshing Mill Owners' Association held recently Mr James Curragh was re-elected president, Messrs J. W. Olliver and G. W. Jackson vice-presidents, and the following were elected as the general committee: Messrs W. J. Bowman, A. C. Gadd, G. Perryman, G. Bruere, R. Hampton, and F. Zimmerman. Mr C. C. Holland was re-elected auditor. _ Dr. Hilgendorf, of the Wheat Research Institute, gave an interesting lecture on wheat mites and wheat cleaning. A very hearty vote Oj thanks to Dr. Hilgendorf was carried by acclamation. Consideration of prices for the 18» season was held over till a later date. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr Thomas Harms was carried in silence. A discussion took place on the use of wheat testers at the mills during tne threshing season, and the meeting ae* cided unanimously in favour of using tliem. The using of briquettes was discussed, and it was left to eacn individual mill owner to make his own arrangements.
