Obituary The death hag occurred of Mtb John Malcolm, aged 92. She was born at Brington, Northamptonshire, in 1843 and left England with her parents in the ship Emma Colvin in February 1856, landing at Wellington after a voyage of five months. Mrs Malcolm was married in 1864 in Nelson. She leaves a family of three sons and six daughters—Messrs T. G. Malcolm (Invercargill) A. E. and P. Malcolm (Richmond), Mrs Corrie-Johnstont (Ngatimoti), Mrs E. T. Thomas (Nelson), Mrs L. Paynter (Auckland), Mrs B. S. Roberts (Papatoetoe), Misses A and M. Malcolm (Richmond). There are 45 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren. Fire Board Loan The Nelson Fire Board to-day received notification that its loan proposal for the erection of a new Are station has been approved by the Loans Board. It was decided to call tenders for the new building. Rotary Club The early history of Nelson was the subject of an address given by Mr A. H. Field at the weekly luncheon of the Nelson Rotary Club to-day. The president, Rotarian W. Armstrong, was in the chair. A vote of thanks to tlie speaker was moved by Rotarian A. J. Harley. Among the visitors were Mr A. G. Wakes (Greymouth) and Mr Tracy Gough (Christchurch).
