CLEANING THE BATH
A CHEAP PREPARATION Nowadays when there are so many baths, wash-hand basins, and sinks in houses, the cleaning of these becomes quite a problem. Paraffin we all know as efficient for the purpose, but there is always the unpleasant smell which lingers after its use. A good cleanser may be made as follows: Take a pound of soft soap, 1 pound of whiting, and 1| pints of water. Rub out the lumps in the whiting and mix with the water, then add the soap. Leave overnight in a warm place to dissolve. Stir well and see that it is thoroughly mixed, then pour into a wide-nscked fruit or jam bottle and covei with paper and keep out the dust. ■ A smooth stick should be kept in Ihe bottle, and used to smear some of the mixture on a piece of flanneL Witli this rub tha bath and rinse with clean | water.
