DAVID'S ( 111 KC'H I:: 'nailery of a:i rid and e.-teemi d worker and in recognition of his faithful work, occasion was taken at the evening service at St. David's Church, Sydenham, last ni»ht to dedicate a communion chair to Ihc innr.m'y of Mr A. L. Gourlay. Tlie' secretary of the church, Mr J. Thomson, presented the chair on ; behalf of the congregation, and it ! was received by Mr D. Anderson, session clerk. : The chair was dedicated by the minister of the. church, the Rev. Lawrence Holers, who said that for aO years Mr Gourlay had been attached to St. David's, and for nearlv ' -40 years —from leDa to Pl32—he was an "elder. For 20 years Mr Gourlay was treasurer of the church. Mr Rogers referred to the keenness and enthusiasm Mr Gourlay put into has work m every department of the ; activities of the church which, he " said, owed a great deal to him.
