The Soviet Government order for 20,000 tons of steel tubes lias been placed with a group representing practically all the British tube manufacturers. An option has also been secured for further deliveries of approximately the same quantities, and which may be exercised on completion of the present contract. This is the biggest contract of the kind ever placed with a British manufacturer.
