RESCUE WORK ON THE ICE

Admiral Byrd with a pilot, flyinc an autogiro, located 15 miles southwest of the camp the monoplane which was forced down yesterday, They found William Raw!in and Clay Bailey sleeping comfortably, and satisfied themselves thev were in no danger. Returning to direct the dog drivers to the spot. Admiral Byrd landed by one party about nine miles from the camp. On account of high winds the autogiro was unable to rise again. Admiral Byrd returned to the camp by dog team and the rescue party was divided, one part rushing on to relieve the monoplane and the remainder standing by the autogiro, while Admiral Bvrd sends additional aid. The temperature is about 15 degrees below zero.
