Ransom, Minister' lor Lands, arrived by the Tamahine to-night to inspect the eficcts of the prolonged drought on the district, and to discuss irrigation and stock water supply schemes. The Minister was welcomed on arrival. and will proceed to-murrcw to the Awate-re district. Friday will be devoted to the Wairau plain. This evening Mr Itnnsom held informal discussion with the progress league concerning the water schemes it is sponsoring.
