J WOMEN'S WORLD GAMES INVITATION FOR NEW ZEALAND TEAM [THE TEESS Special Service.} WELLINGTON, March 21. An invitation has been received by the New Zealand Amateur AthleticAssociation from the Women's Amateur Athletic Association, England, to send a team to compete in the Women's World Games, to be held in London on August 9 and 11. Mr L. A. Tracy, secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, stated to-day that the invitation would be considered in due course. The first Women's Games were held in Paris in 1922, the second in Gothenburg in 1926, and the third in Prague in 1930. At none of these has New Zealand been represented. The organisation of the games this year has been entrusted to the Women's Amateur Athletic Association, England, by the world controlling body, Federation Sportive Feminine International. The games are to be held at the White City Stadium, Shepherd's Bush. This stadium is one of the most modern, and has a red cinder track, which can be reached only by nn underground passage from the dressing rooms. There is seating accommodation for 80,000 spectators. The programme of events is as follows:—CO metres, 100 metres, 200 metres, KOO metres, 400 metres relay, K0 metres hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putting, discus throwing, javelin throwing, and Pentathlon (100 metres, high jump, long jump, putting! the shot, and throwing the javelin). The meeting coincides with the British Empire Games, to be held in London from August 4 to August 11.
