MR E. J. W. GREGORY M• - tSSOCU UuK iILM ».IK.) AUCKLAND, March 21. One of the oldest Maori war veterans, Mr Edward J. W. Gregory, of Ponsonby, died to-day at the age of <H. He took part in the Maori war in Taranaki ironi 1863 onward. He was one of the few survivors of the White Cliffs massacre of 1869, and was the last person to shake hands wilh the Eev. John WJiitelcy shortly before he was murdered.
