FIXTURES FOR WELLINGTON TEAM'S TOUR

In response to an invitation from Christchurch it was decided at the meeting this evening of the Wellington Cricket Association, provided players are available, to allow the Wellington Plunket Shield team to play a two-day match at Timaru and a three-day match at Christchurch o.i its return from Otago. This has been made possible by the cancellation of the visit of the Australian team. FRIENDLY MATCHES A learn representing (he Westporl Coal Company, Ltd.. played a match with Prebbleton, at Prcbbleton. during the -week-end, I the result being a win. for the visiting team by 89 runs on the first innings. The Westport Coal Company in the first innings made 134 (J. Mills 46, J. Abbott 30, French 16 not out). Prebbleton in the first innings made 45 (Marshall 21) and in the second innings 104 (Hands S9). Bowling tor the visitors in the first innings, J. Mills took eight wickets for 14 runs, and in the second innings Vv\ Herron took four for la and W. Gourley three for 15. Bowling for Prebbleton, F. Ayers took nine for 30. A match between a team representing the New Brighton Amateur Athletic Club and a team from Aulsebrook and Company. Ltd., resulted in a for the latter by 26 runs. The New Brighton team made 132 (C. Kerr 31, P. Bellamy 27, D. Jarvis 20, and Hay 25), and the opposing side 158 (Voice 11, Roberts 14, and Richards 13). In the winning side's innings 40 runs were scored for extras.
