In replying to a deputation representing the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, the Railway Officers' Institute, the Enginedrivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners' Association. and the Railway Tradesmen's Association to-dav, the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes,) stated that the position of the country's finances did not warrant the restoration of wage-cuts at present.
