RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN N.S.W.
EXPRESS IN COLLISION FIFTEEN PASSENGERS SLIGHTLY INJURED (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAM— COFYKIGUT.) (Received February 11, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 11. The Brisbane express struck a locomotive in the south Grafton railway yard yesterday afternoon. The locomotive was shunting when the express rounded a bend and crashed into it. The shock of the impact threw the passengers from their seats. Fifteen were injured, none seriously. The guard, named Vincent, received bad cuts and abrasions on the head and face, but the passengers were all able to continue the journey after first aid treatment. The express engine was damaged and was replaced, but the carriages were undamaged. The express went on, 70 minutes late.
