THE ROYAL SHOW
SMALL GATE RECEIPTS , (MBS3 ABSOCIATIOH TSLXOKAU.) AUCKLAND, February 11. Because of the wet weather the Royal Show was not a financial success. It was expected that the total gate receipts might reach £2OOO, but Saturday's takings were only £3OO. The takings on Thursday were £6O, and on Friday £220. In addition, extraordinarily large quantities of hay were required for the show stock in view of the heavy rain which fell during the fixture. BULLER ASSOCIATION'S SHOW (rEESS ASSOCIATION TEMCEAM.) WESTPORT, February 10. The Buller Agricultural and Pastoral Association's twenty-second annual show concluded to-day, The weather was fine yesterday, but the attendance was marred to-day by a drizzling rain. Entries were well up to the average and competition was keen in most of the classes.
The winners of trophies were J. R. Burley, horse cup, H. Palmer cattle cup (third year in succession), H. Carey Jersey cup (second year in succession), V. Carter pig cup (fourth year running), Mrs A. Neil rose bowl. Mr C. Walshe's Wrackateer won Morgan and Risk's cup for trotting exhibitions.
