Tho weather was dull and threatening for Die Royal Agricultural Show, which was officially opened this afternoon by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes). Many children's contests were held this afternoon, and, as numerous school children with their teachers thronged the grounds, it was almost a children's day. In conjunction with the main show, the Auckland Kennel Club staged its forty-second exhibition, with about 1000 dogs on parade. Additional championship awards are:—Jerseys—Bull: R. K. Garland's Brampton Standard You'll Do (Matamata). Reserve: E. Griffith's Vagabond of Oakland (New Plymouth). Cow: W. H. Mier's Nobles Choice (Hamilton). Reserve: V. McD. Patching's Ku Ku Neat Maiden (Otorohanga). Sheep. j Shropshires—Ram: Cochrane Bros. I (Ashburton). Reserve: Cochrane I Bros. Ewe: Cochrane Bros. Reserve: | Cochrane Bros. ! Corriedales —Ram: Bushey Park Estate (Palmerston South). Reserve: Bushey Park Estate. Ewe: Cochrane Bros. Reserve: Cochrane IBros. The council of Hie Royal I tliml Society met to-day, Mr L. R. C. I Maefarlane presiding. The treasurer's | report showed a balance of £l4B and ! cash invest merits of .t3r>.'ls. rnvercargil! was allotted the next Royal show, in February, 19:15. In the following year Die .show will be offered to Ilawke's Bay.
