A meeting of the executive committee will be held at the association's headquarters on Wednesday evening. Ambulance Divisions The Christchurch Ambulance Division opened the New Year session on Wednesday evening, when 12 members were present under Superintendent \V M. Palmer. The schedule for 1034 was adopted, and the printing authorised. When the business of the evening was concluded the division was exercised in squad drill, under the superintendent and First Officer P. A. Wcntworth.

The No. 3 Division of St. John Ambulance Brigade held its usual weekly meeting at the ambulance station on Thursday evening. Twenty-two members were present. Superintendent D. j. Somcrville being in charge. The evening was devoted to bandaging, ambulance officer Mr N. G. Milne and Sergeant D. Harper supervising. The brigade held a meeting later to arrange for a dance, which will beheld in the Drill Hall later in the month.

Divisional-Surgeon Dr. J. P. McQuilken delivered a lecture on the first aid treatment of fractures to the Christchurch Railway Ambulance Division on Monday evening. There was nn attendance of 22 members. Next Monday Assistant Commissioner Dr. F. J. Borric will be present, and a full parade is desired.

The usual weekly parade of St. Matthew's Ambulance Division was held on Monday evening at brigade headquarters, Peterborough street, there being a good muster of members, with Superintendent S. A. Jones in charge. After roll call and general business, members were instructed in bandaging and splinting and general treatment of fractures by the superintendent.

The first general meeting of the Lyttelton Railway Ambulance Division was held in the sub-centre's rooms on Monday evening. Superintendent Lister being in charge. After parade and inspection, Dr. C. H. Upham gave a lecture on Antiseptic Surgery, and answered questions. Ambulance and public duties were arranged, and one new member was admitted. Captain Peek will be in attendance next week when nominations for the position of secretary will be called for.

Nursing- Divisions Cadet nursing divisions are now starting work in earnest after the vacation, and much interest is being taken in the classes for various subject:; for proficiency badges. Some cadets are beginning training this week for their swimming and life-saving badges, and the supervising ofiicer, Miss F. L. Cooper, is also arranging for instructions for the child welfare badge, public service badge, badge for knowledge of the Order of St. John, and handicraft and homecraft badges. In addition to instruction in these subjects, practice in first aid and home nursing will be kept up. At the nursing cadet picnic in the public gardens this afternoon, organised games will be played, and as all divisions of the cadets will be preset]'., it is hoped in this way to foster a spirit of friendliness, and at the same time good-natured competition amongst the members of the various units.

Efforts are being made to form a cadet nursing division at Sumner, where there are doubtless many girls who would be pleased to join an organisation giving such interesting and useful training.

Si. Matthew's Nursing Division of. St. John Ambulance Brigade held its lirst parade for the year in the brigade rooms at headquarters, Peterborough street, on Monday evening, with n very satisfactory attendance of members. The lady superintendent, Miss Conway, welcomed the members, and appealed to them to strive to maintain the high standard of interest which had marked their work last year.

A vote oC condolence with Dr. Stenhouse in his recent sad bereavement was passed in silence. Practice in fracture bandaging occupied the remainder of the evening.

The Selwyn Nursing Division held the first meeting for the year on Tuesday in the brigade rooms. There was a good altendance of members. Mrs Angas, lady divisional superintendent, presided. Duties were arranged for St. John free ambulance, and the procedure of the year's work was outlined. Members later practised first-aid.

The weekly meeting of the New Brighton Nursing Division was held on Monday evening, Mrs Robertson being in charge. Practice in general first-aid was carried out and instrucion was given on pressure points and the use of slings.

The first meeting of the year of the Girl Guide Nursing Division was held on Tuesday evening last at the brigade rooms. After the business of the evening the divisional surgeon was announced and gave an interesting lecture on the subject of "Fractures." A new member was admitted to the division on probation. Public duties were arranged for the week.
