KIDNAPPING IN AMERICA
BANKER RELEASED AFTER NINETEEN DAYS ST. PAUL (Minnesota), Feb. 8. Mr Edward Bremer, banker, who was kidnapped on January 19, was freed to-day after the payment of 20,000 dollars ransom. He was beaten during his captivity, and his eyes covered with tape for 19 days. A doctor described his head injuries as serious. Six or seven men are sought as his kidnappers, including three who pushed Mr Bremer from a sedan car in a residential district of Rochester, Minnesota, late last night. The victim's relatives kept their i bargain with the kidnappers to preserve secrecy until Mr Bremer was returned. They are now helping the police.
