AWARDS ANNOUNCED
♦ COMMERCIAL EXAMINATIONS Very creditable performances were given by two Christchurch girls in the shorthand section of the commercial examinations held in November, according to advice received from Wellirfeton by the secretary of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce (M? J. Roy Smith) yesterday. Miss Phyllis M. Goudard, 100 words a minute, and Miss Grace W. Cant, 150 words a minute, were awarded first and second place respectively in the shorthand section. In the typewriting section the first award went to Wellii. ton and the second to Hawera; Wellington secured first place in penmanship, Nelson being second; and in bookkeeping Palmei'ston North was first and Wellington second.
