BLOW TO LANG FACTION

♦ AUSTRALIAN LABOUR DISSENSION SYDNEY, February 7. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says the plans of supporters of the Lang Labour party to enlist the support of the Australian Workers' Union to achieve unity, on their own terms, received a severe check when delegates to the Australian Workers' Union convention refused to accept proposals for the reaffiliation of the state branch of the union with the Lang Labour party. A reverse decision, it is stated, would have practically ensured the success of the unity proposals of the Victorian Labour party, which are said to have been designed to give the Lang group control of the Australian Labour party, thus enabling Mr J. T. Lang to assume the Federal leadership.
