ALEXANDER RETURN IFItESS ASSOCIATION TJBLEOBAM.) REEFTON, Jebruary 7. The Alexander mines clean-up for January was as follows:—Three hundred and fifty-eight tons of ore were crushed for 189 ounces 11 pennyweights of melted gold. Cyanide: Two hundred and nine tons of sands were treated for 43 ounces 14 penny-weights of bullion. The estimated value is £I3BO, and concentrates, valued at £217 have been saved. In estimating the above values gold has been taken at £6 a fine ounce. GOLCONDA .MINES, LTD. I The /oliowing mine manager's reI port is supplied for Golconda Mines, Ltd., Thames:—During the week the following work has been carried out:— Tunnel level: We have started a rise on the new reef south of the east crosscut. The reef formation is composed of quartz stringers and pug. A few colours of gold are seen in the stringers. Seventy foot level: We continued driving west on the hangingwall reef. The reef is a strong body of ore carrying nice minerals, but no gold has yet been seen. The reef is in two portions diverging away from each other. We are following the hangingwall portion and the country rock is improving. The country has been very disturbed on account of the break, and the reef should improve in values when we get away from the influence of the break. We are putting up a rise on this reef to connect with the intermediate level, which should be completed in about two weeks. Stoping was continued on the branch reef south and a few nice dabs of gold were seen. TALISMAN DUBBO, LTD The Talisman Dubbo Gold Mines, Ltd., had 22 2-3 tons of ore treated at the Golden Dawn battery for a return of £233 2s Id, actual realisation. HELL MILL CO., LTD. The following report for the Bell Hill Gold Sluicing Co., Ltd., has been supplied by Hie company:— Work recommenced at the claim j on January 8. 1934. The following is the mine manager's report to February 3 for the Long Trail Gold Mining Co., Ltd.:—the No. 2 intermediate level drive was cleaned out and driven for a further distance ; of eight feet.
