FLIGHT OF SOUTHERN CROSS
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, December 28. Mr "Wilfrid Kingsford-Smith stated to-day that advice had been received that, owing to the unsuitability of the tides at Gerringong beach at the time of the departure, the Southern Cross will leave the Air Force aerodrome at ."Richmond early in the morning of January 11, weather permitting. The machine is due at New Plymouth late that afternoon. Mr Kingsford-Smith also stated that the Codock machine will be ready on about three weeks and will be flown over the Tasman by Mr T. W. White in February to join the Southern Cross in. the latter half of Sir Charles s •New Zealand tour.
