WEEKLY REVIEW During the last week markets on the whole were quieter and in nearly all sections there was a falling off in thfi recorded volume of business. Prices moved irregularly but generally closed at or above opening rates. Gold Mining stocks continued to attract a lot ©f attention. National Insurance were fractionally firmer at 19s Id and 19s 2d. New Zealand scored a rise of Is at 57s 3d; Queensland rose 2s to 61s; South British eased from 76s 6d to 765. Goldsbrough, Morts advanced from 31s 2d to 31s 9d, and closed firmer with local buyers at 32s 4d. National Mortgage A were firmer ati 61s, and more are wanted at 635. Frozen Meat, Woollens, Coal, and Gas. Gear Meat remained unaltered at 335. New Zealand Refrigerating £1 paid were firmer at prices ranging from 20s 3d to 19s lid; the 10s paid •were fractionally weaker at 9s 9d, and more are available at 9s Bd. Kaiapoi Woollens preference eased from 16s 9d to 16s 3d. Stockton Coal preference moved up to 2s 9d. Auckland Gas were firmer with dealings in the fully paid at 23s 9d, and in the partly paid at 17s 3d and 17s 6d. Christchurch advanced to 28s 3d. Wellington were firm at 345. Breweries. Carlton were firmer at 42s 9d. New Zealand cum dividend relapsed to 37s Id and 375, and ex dividend had business at 36s 6d, with further buyers at 36s 4d. Timaru (7s 6d paid) remained unaltered at 4s lid, and late buyers are offering ss. Tooths are easier . with local sellers at 42s 3d—last week's business was at 42s 6d. Miscellaneous. Amongst the miscellaneous stocks, Anthony Hordern ordinary were fractionally firmer at 13s 4d and 13s 6d. Amalgamated Wireless (contributing) remained at 21s. Beath and Company receded to 295. Broken Hill Proprietary moved up to 39s 6d, 39s 9d, and 40s. British Tobaccos cum dividend were steady at 375. Colonial Sugars advanced from £6O 17s 6d to £6l 15s. Dominion Fertilisers were active at prices ranging from 16s 7Jd to 18s 3d. Dunlop Rubbers recovered from 19s 2d to 19s 7d. Dominion Builders' Supplies realised 2s 9d, and Moturoa Oil 3s. Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering A preference were firm at 20s 6d. Henry Jones declined to 33s 3d and 335. Leylan-1 O'Brien Timber remained unaltered at 20s. Mount Lyells recovered to 22s 6d, 22s 7Jd, and 22s 7d. New Zealand Drugs moved up to 73s 6d. Union Oil, Soap, and Candle were firmer at 275. Woolworths (New Zealand) ordinary had dealings at £5 ss, £5 7s 6d, and £5 8s 6d, the preference were steady at 35s 9d. Wilsons Cements eased to 265. Gold Mining.
