REBELLION IN SIAM
CHANCEJS REGARDED WITH FAVOUR SUPPORT OF PEOPLE (Received October 17, 11.21 p.m.) SINGAPORE, October 17. Intelligent British opinion regards the chances of the Siamese rebels favourably. It is said that their success would be welcomed by the population, which is inclined to blame the present government for the declining trade of the last year. Pilots of rebel aeroplanes who have flown over Bangkok state that they could take the city in two days, but are withholding action because their- friends are within the capital. There is no railway communication from Malaya beyond 200 kilometres from the Malayan frontier.
