APPOINTMENTS TOR THE YEAR i!/;L.Jj a*.Uh;;jiTJON " KUJ, ."..•,:.' ,: AUCKLAND, October 17. At. Ilic assembly of the Baptist Union, Messrs T. It. Page, J. K. Reid, and F. E. Smart, students of the Baplist College, were ordained to the ministry. Mr Page was appointed to the South Dunedin Church, and Mr Smart to the Mosgiel Church. The Baptist jubilee fund was reported to amount to £282,1 The estimated income of the union is £1675. Grants in aid of various churcnes amounted to £1753. The total membership is 8G43, an increase of 431. the largest yet reported. The following appointments were made for the ensuing year:—Presidentelect, the Rev. John Laird; secretary and treasurer, the Rev. M. W. P. Lascelles; union council <cx officio), the Revs. J. Laird, J. J. North. J. Hiddlcston. A. W. Stuart, Messrs O. S. Wile*. D. T Power, C. T. Davistock. W. J. Bardslcy ("newly elected), the Revs. R. H. K. Kempton, C. W. Duncumb, L. A. North, J. K. Archer. A. Anstice, W. E. Lambert. Messrs F. W. Gaze, H. Dearsley, W. A. Kcndon. W. Lambourne," W. H. Newton, W. A. Craig, J. R. Carey, F. W. Norner, C. K Bcckingsalc, and P. J. Calder.
