(CONTINUED.) WEDDINGS MITCHELL—RUSHBROOK The wedding was celebrated in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wellington, recently, of Lona Sadie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. W. Rushbrook, Kelburn, to John Morgan, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Mitchell, Merivale. Christchurch.

The Rev. J. Hubbard officiated. The church was decorated with pink cherry blossom and cream tulips. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin closely fitting to the hips, where the skirt widened to form a train at tne back. Her veil of Brussels lace was caught with orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of pale pink amaryllis lilies. The attendant maids, Miss Jean Blackwood, Palmerston North .(chief) and Miss Mavis Chamberlain, Kelburn, wore frocks of pale pink chiffon velvet with deep Raglan capelets edged with hand-made flowers, which also edged the side. Their small hats were of the same material, and they carried sheaves of pale pin.'-: tulips. Mr C. E. Weir (Auckland) was best man, and Mr N. W. M. Hawkins (Christchurch) groomsman. Mr Tom Hewitt acted as usher. The reception was held at the urana Hotel, where the guests were . received in the lounge by the brides parents, assisted by the parents ot the bridegroom. „,„.,,., Mrs C. W. PRESTON—NICHOLAS The wedding was celebrated recently, at St. Mary's Church, Timaru, of Margreta Elizabeth, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John J. T. Nicholas, of Timaru, to Harold Roland, younger son of Mr and Mrs H. U. Preston, of Timaru, and formerly of Invercargill. Archdeacon H. W. Monaghan performed the ceremony, and Mr A. W. Vine was the organist. The bride was escorted by her brother Mr Vernon T. Nicholas. She wore a frock of magnolia crepe satin, made with a round-shaped yoke deeply inset over the shoulders and finished with fine shirring, extending to the fullypuffed sleeves, which tapered to form points over the hands. The skirt fell in fluted folds to the ground. Her veil of deep crerne silk net was arranged with clusters of orange blossom at each side, and she carried a siieaf of lilies. Miss Sadie Nicholas, who attended her sister, wore a frock of nile green georgette, made on lines similar to the bride's frock. Her hat was of maize leghorn straw, the crown being trimmed with a flat cluster of flowers. She carried a bouquet of frcesias. ' Mr G. Wotherspoon was groomsman. After -the ceremony a small reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs C. T. Nicholas (Church street). WHALL—BERRY At the Presbyterian Church. Harihari, South Westland. the wedding was celebrated recently of Miss May Marianne Berry, third daughter of Mr and Mrs William Berry, of Herepo, to Mr Thomas Whall, formerly of Christchurch. The Rev. L. S. Dewar performed the ceremony and Mr Gunn (Wataroa) was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her fattier, wore a frock of ivory silk crepe and an embroidered tulle veil, held in place with a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss Sylvia Berry and Miss Maire Berry, who acted as bridesmaids, wore frocks of eau-de-ni! and pink georgette respectively. Their head-dresses were composed of flowers to tone with their bouquets. A niece of the bride, little Betty Adamson. was flower-girl. She wore a Kate Grcenaway frock of blue organdi. Mr Hugh Wallace and Mr Gordon Berry attended the bridegroom. After the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Berry entertained a number of friends at their home. Mrs Berry was wearing a frock of blue floral crepe de chine and a smart straw hat. Later Mr and Mrs Whall left by car for Christchurch. The bride travelled in a frock of nigger brown wool matalaine, and a straw hat to tone. In the evening Mr and Mrs Berry entertained the young friends of the bride and bridegroom at a very pleasant party.

! (JLASSEY— ARGYLE I The marriage of Nellie, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Argyle, of Ruapuna, to Andrew, son of the late Mr and Mrs Glasscy, of Ruapuna, was celebrated recently at the Ruapuna Anglican Church. The Rev. A. D. Kirkland performed the ceremony, and Miss Gwen Ross was the organist. The church had been decorated with peach blossom and iceland poppies by Mrs G. Ross and Mrs J. H. Boaler. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ankle-length frock of white crepe de chine inset with lace. Her embroidered veil was arranged with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a spray of white flowers and maidenhair fern. Miss Dorothy Painter, a cousin, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a frock of blue floral taffeta, and a hat to tone. She carried a posy of forget-me-nots and wallflowers. Little Noreen Glassey, niece of the bridegroom, wore a long frock of pale pink floral organdi, and carried a posy of spring flowers. Mr Thomas Glassey attended his brother. During the signing the register, Miss Raymond Scwell (Belfast) accompanied by Mrs W. Roger (Belfast), sang a solo. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, and at night a dance was held in the local hall. CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS PARTY A children's fancy dress party, under the auspices of the Heathcote School Committee, was held in the Club Hall on Saturday evening. There was a very large attendance. Local school children gave an exhibition of folk dancing and recitations we contributed by Master Neville Burnell. The judges, Misses Shepherd and Moyle, of Lyttelton, had a difficult task in selecting the prize winners. Mr N. G. Collins was master of ceromonies, and Mrs C. Flavell presented the prizes. A dance for the adults was also held the music being supplied by Mr C. White. Mr J.' Morgan was master of ceremonies.
