H.M.S. DIOMEDE
ARRIVAL AT LYTTELTON j THIS MORNING H.M.S. Diomcde is expected to arrive at Lytteltou at C.30 a.m. to-day from Queen Charlotte Sound, and will berth at No. 3 east. She will remain in port until October 25, when she will sail for Wellington. Official calls will be made on Captain Cosmo Graham, the commander, by the chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr W. G. Gallagher, and the secretary, Mr C. H. Clibborn, at 11.20 this morning and by the Mayor of Lyttelton, Mr W. T. Lester, the Town Clerk, Mr F Hobbs, and the Deputy-Mayor of Christchurch. Mr J. K. Archer, and the Town Clerk, Mr J. S. Neville, shortly before noon. Captain Cosmo Graham, vvho is in command of the Diomcde, succeeded Captain V. A. C. Crutcliley, V.O. in the command i August 3 last. Captain Gr-.ham, who has not previously visited the Dominion, served in destroyers during the greater part of the war. Following a period at Admiralty training "hools. he took a course in flying, and was later transferred to an aircraft-carrier. Later he was flag-captain with the cruiser squadron in the Mediterranean. He was promoted captain "n June, 1930.
