WAIMAIRI BEACH PROGRESS LEAGUE
i ' The rirst meeting of the Waimairi Beach Progress League was held last evening. It was decided not to apply for aiiiliation with the United Burgesses" Association for the present, and to bold meetings on the third Monday An each month. The chairman, secretary, and treasurer were appointed a sub-committee-to draw up a constitution for submission to the next meeting. The chairman reported that a lighi had been placed at the corner of Badcrer and Svlvia streets, and that the Waimairi County Council had agreed to metal the first seven chains of the road into Mr Wylie's property. Rates, drainage, and inspection fees were discussed, and it was decided to go into drainage matters at the next meeting. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. Florance; vice-presidents, Messrs W. J. Walter, W. P. Spencer, J. Liggins, T. Bond, and J. Taylor; secretary, Mr R. Bett.«: treasurer. Mr G, Biggs,
