NORTH CANTERBURY CLUB The North Canterbury Gun Club's clay pigeon championship was decided at B&ngiora on Saturday afternoon The conditions wore 15 birds off 16 yards. The first prize was an open order to the value of £3 35,. given by the club, the second a trophy given, by Mr I. G. .Watkins, . the third 8. trophy provided by the club, and fourth a trophy given by the president. The shooting conditions were not good, both light and wind being variable. Tliere were 13 competitors, of whom 10 subscribed to an optional sweep J."Simpson. A. 2*. Turner, J. Brightling, and I. G. Watkins broke the possible. Simpson, Turner, and Watkins divided the sweep money, and the four shot off for the championship. -Simpson missed his second bird and secured fourth trophy; and Turner and Watkins missed their fifth, leaving Brightling, the winner.
