PAYMENT OF RATES BY THE CROWN
(PEES 3 ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) WAIROA, October 14. The- Mayor of Wairoa (Mr H. L. Harker) has received advice from Mr D. W. Coleman, M.P., that the Prime Minister has agreed to the setting up of a Parliamentary committee to meet delegates to go into rating and the payment of rates by the Crown, as requested at a conference of local rating authorities held in Wairoa on June 1.. The personnel of the committee or the date on which it will meet have riot been ■ supplied.
