ROTARY CONFERENCE
j The growth of the Rotary movement j in New Zealand and the popularity of New Plymouth with its combination of • scenic attractions were given by Mr T. C. List, District Governor of RotJ ary, when speaking at the luncheon of the New Plymouth Rotary Club last ; week, as the reasons for expecting a f large influx of visitors to the town on (■the occasion of the annual conference j next year (reports the "News"). "I l am very gratified to see how firmly Rotary is established in New Zealand," he said. "This has been made apparent to me by the welcomes I have received during my visits to other centres and by the support that has been promised. It looks as if we are going to have a great attendance at the annual conference. Delegates are coming from all parts not only because of the great benefit they know they will receive from the conference, but also because they want to see the most beautiful part of New Zealand, which | Taranaki is with its combination of i mountain, park, and seaside scenic at- ! tractions. We shall have a record num- \ ber of visitors here, for the conference is an event that is being looked j forward to with very much interest "
