l RECORD TO BATAVIA AIRMAN NOW FEELING VERY WELL (UKITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEQEAPB—COPYRIGHT.) (Received October 10, 11.30 p.m.) BATAVIA, October 10. Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith passed over here and dropped a note for Batavia aerodrome, reading: "London to Batavia in six days three hours. How's that? Please telephone Samarang to have two gallons of oil on the ground, as I may have to land for extra oil. Also remind Sourabaya about landing lights. Thank you. Cheerio. Kings-ford-Smith." He had arrived at Alor Star from Akyab on Monday evening, and left again for Sourabaya at 6 o'clock in the morning. At Alor Star he said he was feeling very well. When reminded that he was ahead of Mr C. W. A. Scott's time, reaching Alor Star on his sixth day out, against Mr Scott's seventh. Sir Charles said he was not out to break the record but wished to return to Australia as soon as possible.
POLITICIAN'S FLIGHT LONDON, October 9. Mr W. P. C. Greene, M.P., has left Worcester by air for Australia. [On September 29 it was announced that Mr Greene, an Australian landowner, had chartered a Spartan monoplane with three Gipsy engines, to take himself and two or three friends to Australia on a pleasure cruise. He was due to leave on October 9, and to reach Sydney on October 29.1 i
