SPORTS PROTECTION ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING "The association was formed 43 years ago, and since then it has done a lot of beneficial work on behalf of the clubs," said , the chairman, Mr A. Donaldson, at the annual meeting last evening of the Canterbury Athletic Clubs' Protection Association. Some persons think that we exist merely for collecting subscriptions, but that is not so; the association is here to protect clubs from members who do not pay their subscriptions. The annual report and balance-sheet, a summary of which has already appeared in "The Press," was adopted. Discussing the report, the chairman said that the number of affiliated clubs —66—was a record, and the year had been a successful one. Officers were elected as follows: — Executive. Messrs A. A. Boot_ (Avon Rowing Club), K. H. Perrm 'Lancaster Park Cricket Club), IL Snook CSvdenham Hockey Club), L>. E. Owen fL'inwocd Tennis Club). T. B. J. Donnelly (Elmwood Amateur Swimming Ciub); hon, secretary and treasurer, Mr K. N. McGillivray; hon. auditor, Mr Angus Donaldson (Pioneer Sports Club).
