LODGE MEETINGS
The ordinary meeting o£ the Loyal Addington Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held in the Dickens Street Hall. The Noble Grand, Bro. A. H. Gibson, presided over an attendance of 25. It was resolved to write to the district secretary that for the coming official visit from the Ashburton district the lodge recommend that a reasonable charge be made to the North Canterbury district members attending the function, and any deficiency be met out of the district management fund. The district secretary wrote giving details of transport to Kaiapoi for the occasion of the official visit on September 20, and also giving particulars of the charges for the official visit to Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, Kaikoura, on Saturday, October 21. Passed for payment whs £24 13s 4d. Other accounts passed for payment were £44 2s lOd. A maternity claim was passed for payment I of £G. It was resolved that Bro. K. McYarrell be the ofiicial sick visitor of the lodge to the Christehurch Public Hospital. Bro. W. G. Wigglesworth. P.G.. reported on the United Friendly Society Councils quarterly meeting, and it was decided to withdraw from membership of this council. ■ Larconibe, P.G., reported that the committee set up to go into the matter of the anniversary of the lodge recommended that the function take place on Saturday, October 14 in the Dickens street Hall, with cards and dancing. It was resolved to adopt the committee s suggestions. It was further resolved that Bro. F. W. LarCOS ? la ® lo ' J- McGuinness, P.G., and Bro. E. B. Harris constitute the ! anniversary committee with power <o ; add. After the lodge closed, a friendly game of bowls was plnyed.
