HALL FOR NORTH LINWOOD
The committee of the Linwood Avenue primary school is endeavouring to raise enough money to build an assembly hall. This enter-1 prise was referred to by Mr T. Nuttall, chairman of the committee, last night, when he presided at the meeting of Mr F. W. Freeman, Coalition candidate for Lyttelton, held in a classroom of the school. Mr Nuttall said that the school needed an assembly hall urgently, and the committee had decided to erect one. A sum of money had already been raised and was on deposit in. the bank. The d>rict was growing very rapidly, with new houses being erected continually, but the district had no suitable hall for public meetings or social gatherings, and the assembly hall, which would be available for public use, was worthy of widespread support.
