TEMPERANCE UNION.
A meeting of the Young People's Christian Temperance Union (North Canterbury district) was held recently when the roll-call was answered by Aranui, North Beach, New Brighton, Sumner, Riccarton, and Christchurch North branches. It was decided that on October 5 members should endeavour to visit various Bible classes and conduct temperance ctudies. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of sympathy to Mr L. Marsh, who had been ill. The treasurer reported that there was a small credit balance. A report on the study circle and brigade was given by Mr L. Clemens, and Mr C. Deans gave a short talk on the correct method of conducting a meeting.
