Auckland —A freshening easterly fcreeze and fine, but cloudy and unsettled weather prevailed yesterday. The barometer was steady all day at SO.SOin. Wellington—A perfect spring day was experienced in Wellington yesterday. The city was bathed in warm sunshine, and in the evening a haze settled down. Temperatures were dild. Dunedin—The weather yesterday was again warm and sunny, with a maximum temperature of 60 degrees. The barometer was high and practically steady. , A light north-east wind was blowing. FORECAST (From readings taken at 4 p.m. yesterday.) General Situation—An anti-cyclone lias remained centred east of New Zea-
land, while an intense depression is now moving off eastern Australia. Winds—Easterly to northerly; strong in the far north, elsewhere light to : moderate, but increasing. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Becoming rough north of the East Cape; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, later rising to gale force in parts, beas becoming rough. Weather—Still mainly fine; but soon becoming dull and misty in the far north, with rain developing and unsettled conditions gradually extending over the Dominion from to-mor-row. Mild temperatures.
