WALKER BEATS OSWALD (rRESS ASSOCIATION' TEI.EGEAM.) NELSON, September 8. George Walker beat Hank Oswald by two falls to one last night, the bout ending in the seventh round. Walker ! won the bout with a fall as the result of a dump. The attendance was a local record. Although Oswald gained a fall, Walker appeared to have his opponent well in hand throughout. GEORGE WALKER V. COUNT VARGA George Walker, the British Empire champion, will again wrestle at Christchurch next Monday evening, when he will be matched against Count Joseph Varga, of Hungary, at St. James' Theatre. So far this season these wrestlers have met on three occasions, and while the honours lie with Walker with two wins, Varga has the distinction of being the only wrestler to defeat Walker during the present season. He will no doubt strive to make the honours even, and a strenuous match should result. i Before the international match of eight 10-minute rounds, the Canterbury Amateur Championships will be concluded with the following finals:— Light-weight—J. F. Genet v. F. T. Brooks. Welter-weight—W. Mitchell v. P. Kane Middle-weight—W. Mitchell v. J. F. Martin. In the semi-final of the light-heavy-weight class, D. Lloyd will wrestle A. K.
