the civic theatre "JUST MY LUCK" To-day will see the last screenings of the comedy, "Just My Luck," featuring Ralph Lynn, Britain's irresistible comedian. With the assistance of Winifred Shotter, Vera Pearcc, Robertson Hare, David Burnaby, and other members of the Aldwych Theatre cast, Ralph Lynn keeps audiences bubbling over with mirth. From a melancholy music master, the personification of depression, he is transformed to a smartlydressed, bombastic manager of a select hotel. From then on events move quickly, and at one pex - io<jl it would seem his good luck would desert him, but all comes right and he marries his erstwhile pupil, the daughter of his employer. To-morrow, the management of the Civic has secured for presentation "The Mayor's Nest," credited with being Sydney Howard's funniest offering to date. The story concerns the rise to mayoralty of Joe Pilgrim, a trombone player who knows but one tune, "William Tell," and is consequently turned out of the band. He becomes a candidate for a vacancy on the borough council, and election time is one of great hilarity with Pilgrim—addressing bis opponent's meeting, holding babies while their mothers vote for him, resulting in a win with an outstanding majority. Within two years he is mayor. He upsets tradition by establishing remarkable precedents, and his great triumph arrives on the day he insists upon his old band playing "William Tell" with himself at the head playing the trombone. The story is great fun, and Sydney Howard makes the most of every opportunity in his own inimit- | able fashion. Box plans are now open at the Civic.
