—♦ — NEGOTIATIONS WITH AUSTRALIA PROCEEDING. I.THE PRESS Bpecial SerTiee.l WELLINGTON, July 28, The Acting-Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, said to-day that negotiations with Australia and the United States of America were in progress regarding the embargo on Australian citrus fruit, and there had been no move on the part of New Zealand to warrant the suggestion of a possibility that the embargo would be partially lifted. He added that he would make a full statement explaining the situation next week. He also said it was not proposed to remove or amend the existing Id a pound duty on American citrus fruit.
